History of Toykraft

Pegasus Toykraft Pvt. Ltd (erstwhile Pegasus International) was established in 2007 by 2 toy professionals Dr. Shyam Makhija and Mr. Anuj Mehta as a partnership company which became a private limited company in the year 2012. The company is held between these 2 families who have a long history in the toy industry.

1968 - 1998

Mr. Rasik Mehta, father of Anuj is a toy veteran with roots in toy manufacturing going as far back as 1969. By the end of the 1990s, Anuj took over the reins of the family business when Rasik's primary business of being an OEM manufacturer for Blow Plast (India) Ltd. (LEO TOYS) shut shop.

2000 - 2010

By the beginning of 2000, Anuj had started his own manufacturing company called "Aries Incorporation" which started manufacturing and selling its range of toys under the brand name "Toykraft".

During the collapse of Blow Plast (India) Ltd. Shyam, one of their top distributors in India, decided to diversify and add more brands to its distribution business. Anuj approached him in the early 2000s for distributing his range of toys to which he readily agreed.

Dr. Shyam, who is a Ph.D. in organics chemistry was fascinated by educational games and was using his research background in this category. He was looking for a manufacturing partner to produce these games. Anuj readily agreed to manufacture these.

This partnership grew through the first half of 2000-2010 and soon came to a point where they decided to merge their core strengths and start a new company that would manufacture toys under the brand name "Toykraft"

Right from the word, the duo started churning out new toys and games while also diversifying into a new category of Do-it-yourself art and craft kits for children. Starting with just under 30 products, the company quickly grew its range to 100+ in just 5 years.  The company first exhibited at the Nuremberg Toys Fair (The Mecca for toy manufacturers) in the year 2009 and soon started to export to many countries. They have also exhibited at the Hong Kong Toys Show, and The New York Toys Show and travel with their association to various buyer-seller-meets worldwide.

The company rapidly expanded its range, operations and footprint during this period. The portfolio grew to almost 200+ items further diversifying into the puzzles category.

Toykraft took high risks by introducing new concepts in the DIY range which included a range of kits teaching children about various art forms. These kits had a rich brew of raw materials like sea shells, painting kits using terracotta pots, glass painting, origami and many more. They all became successful and Toykraft was seen as a trendsetter in the industry.

Toykraft also got a new factory which complies with SEDEX pillar II social audit standards. The company tied up with Pidilite Industries Ltd., and FirstCry for both OEM and label contract manufacturing of toys and games under their brands "Fevicreate" and "Babyhug" respectively.

Toykraft made its debut on Amazon India and USA during 2019-2020.

2020 - to date

The company rebranded it's range in 2023

The decade started with COVID-19 shutdowns and the next 2 years were hard for the company. Toykraftt launched 2 new brands "Pelikas Toyz" for Amazon (India) and "Magnalogix” resulting from a diversification into cognitive travel games. The new range is seeing great success with a very successful initial run and is well represented through the entire sales channels. The company continues to grow in all it's business avenues.
